Union took the Tui Twenty/Twenty trophy played for on Saturday defeating Albion in the final by five wickets and in the playoff for third and fourth, Valley beat Oamaru by 73 runs.

In the first round Union beat Oamaru by eight wickets after Union had put Oamaru in to bat. Oamaru was bundled out for 72 in the 15th over with Ben Guild top scoring with 21. Isaac Shields took four for 14 off his four overs while Brad Fleming and Nathan Hill took two wickets each.

An unbeaten 36 from Sean Conlan took Union through to 77 for two in the 11th over.

Albion decided to bat first against Valley and made 165 for six in its 20 overs. Brad Kernahan top scored with 56, with Hayden McKenzie(22) and Marshall Smith(25 not out) the best of the rest. Blair Malcolm took two for 29 for Valley.

In a tight finish Valley failed by just two runs to pass the Albion target. After ten overs Valley was 72 for three with Cameron Leckie leading the way with 25. With five overs remaining Valley required a further 61 runs to pass the Albion total with Marshall Smith heading the chase with an unbeaten 42. A fine spell of bowling from Steve Halliwell with three for three off four overs saw Valley 164 for six when the final ball was bowled.

Albion batted first in the final against Union and was dismissed in the 17th over for 142.Chris Cunningham (37) gave the side a great start and he received solid support from Gareth Duncan(24 and Hayden McKenzie(26)). Marshall Smith added 23, while bowling for Union, Isaac Shield and Brad Fleming took two wickets each.

A fine innings of 40 from Thomas Shields set Union on its winning way with Sean Conlan adding 51 as Union made 146 for five passing the Albion total in the 18th over. Brad Kernahan took three for 28 for Albion.

In the playoff for third and fourth Valley defeated Oamaru by 73 runs. Valley made 159 for eight in its 20 overs with Hamish McKenzie(49) and Blair Malcolm(28) the major contributors while Ben Guild took two for 22.Oamaru was dismissed for 86 in the 14th over with Gary Clearwater making 30. Andrew Fisher took four for 11 and Hayden Tisdall, three for eight for Valley.
