The representative cricket match played between North Otago and South Canterbury at the weekend ended in a draw. A pleasing feature of North Otago's first innings was the fact that runs were shared fairly evenly among the batsmen after a good opening partnership of 52 by Payne, who made 22, and B Papps, who eventually top-scored with 53.
After leading by 62 runs on the first innings, North Otago declared at 152 for nine in the second innings. South Canterbury replied with 192 for eight wickets.
