North Otago v. Ashburton Draw
Stephan Grobler raisies his bat after bringing up his century against Otago Country
Tuesday, 10 April 1928

The heavy rain of Friday night delayed the resumption of play on Saturday morning, and when the local side continued its innings the ground and wicket were very wet. The bowlers had difficulty in maintaining their foothold and the batsmen found it hard to force the ball away. As the day wore on the conditions improved, and were later very pleasant. Zimmerman and Jacobs improved the look of the North Otago score, both batting solidly. Zimmerman ran to 50 before he lost his wicket and Jacobs carried on ploddingly yet stubbornly. Others came and went, having added to their quota, Rider, Evans, Nimmo, who played a very good strike, Milner and Keith all helped to increase the total, so that Zimmerman was able to declare the innings closed with 9 for 213. The visitors started sensationally by losing Drinnan, bowled first ball by Keith, and had lost 5 for 54 in the second innings when time was called.
