Otago B was in a good position against North Otago after the first day of play the University Oval yesterday.

North Otago batting first on a firm wicket, was all out by mid-afternoon for 109. The Otago B bowlers were hard to score off and runs came slowly.

Otago B had scored 70 for one when rain stopped play at 4.20 p.m. C.M. Dickel being on 31 and R. Blair 24.
