Southland Beats North Otago by 148 Runs On First Innings

In the match played at Waitaki Boys High School yesterday Southland defeated North Otago by 148 runs on the first innings. Southland seemed certain of securing an outright win but 5.18 p.m. heavy rain caused the abandonment of play. At that time North Otago, in the second innings, had made 37 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

R. Pollock (26), W. Spence (47 not out) were the top scorers for Southland.

In North Otago's second innings W. Thomas was the only batsmen to reach double figures.
