After a pleasant game, the Otago Colt's team and North Otago drew in the match which was concluded at Carisbrook yesterday. When play was resumed the surface of the ground was wet, but it dried during the morning and the batting conditions throughout the day were almost ideal.
On the opening day the Colts made 191, and North Otago lost four wickets for 29 runs. The only batsman who impressed yesterday was Davey, who attacked the bowling with the greatest of freedom to make 44, the innings closing for 120. With a lead of 71 on the first innings, the Colts gave a merry display in their second innings, the feature of which was a fine score of 94 by McGregor. Sinclair declared with seven wickets down for 203, leaving North Otago with 275 to get and two hours to bat. North Otago made a much better showing in its second venture, and at the drawing of stumps three wickets were down for 198. Kerr, who had played an impressive innings, being not out with 87.
