At the luncheon adjournment today the Australian Riverina team had complied 243 runs for the loss of five wickets in reply to North Otago's first innings total of 251 runs. At stumps last night the Australians had lost five wickets for 90 runs.

Today the Australians continued chasing the runs and Rudd had complied 72 before being run out as the result of a good return to the wicket. Bowen hit very hard in making his 65.

Of the North Otago bowlers it was Sandri who commanded most respect, although he finished the morning session with one wicket for 40 runs.
