Yesterday was a bad day for North Otago cricket, for in the first day's play against a Central Otago side, everything seemed to go side, everything seemed to go wrong. Catches were dropped in all directions, so that it was not surprising that the Central total exceeded 300. The visitors' batting was enterprising and run-getting was always ahead of the clock. McKnight, Johnston, A. Blakeley and Harris all batted well for their runs. Brown and Hannam bore most of the burden of the attack.
