A Close Finish In Match Against Central Otago
U15s celebrate a wicket
Monday, 6 January 1958

The Central Otago side narrowly averted defeat on Saturday when North Otago had dismissed all but one of the batsmen at the call of time. When Sandri declared the North Otago innings closed he left the visitors 140 minutes in which to get 172 runs. In chasing the runs Central Otago had lost six for 46 before they closed up and stern defence by Flannery, Buttar and Graham just managed to stave off defeat. Sandri, Cowles and Wardle all bowled effectively on a wicket that gave them little encouragement.
