North Otago put paid to Central Otago's efforts when they beat them comfortably in the Cyclone Hawke Cup cricket elimination match at Centennial Park on Saturday.

Central Otago needed an outright win before going into its final match against Southland in Invercargill on February 4 and 5.

Only two matches remain in the Hawke Cup series, which has completed all of its matches, leads by 10 ahead of Southland and Central Otago.
