In all three grades the North Otago teams all won their matches against South Canterbury on Saturday. Unfortunately rain in the afternoon militated against the pleasure of playing. In the senior fixture I.H. Burrows, after a very slow start, batted freely later to reach 74. Berry, who was scored consistently this year, again played a sound and useful innings and B. Dick contributed 33m and North Otago declared with 7 for 219. South Canterbury replied with 137 of which Gould made 35 and lost 24. Berry, who kept a good length, was the best of the local bowlers.

In the senior B game South Canterbury made only 110 against a well-directed attack, to which North Otago replied by losing 8 wickets for 218. G. Sumpter, as opening batsman, gave the score a good start, and he and B. Anderson, who made 73 by good strokes, made a win safe for the home team.
