Union maintained its lead in Borton Cup cricket with a 64 run win over Albion at Awamoa Park. Batting first Union made 235 before the final wicket fell in the 50th over. Glynn Cameron(72) and Jason Todd(45) featured in a fifth wicket stand of 86 while Paul Johnston(28) and Duncan Drew (20) made solid contributions. Wickets were shared by the Albion bowlers with Tom Hoornweg, Ricky Whyte, Paul Odell and Scott Guyton taking two wickets each.
Albion made a reasonable start to be 59 for three after 21 overs but apart from Nigel Moriarty(41) , Steve Halliwell(28) and Kelvin McFelin(21) the other Albion batsmen failed to fire and the side was dismissed for 171 in the 47th over. Matt Lilley claimed three for 35 while Isaac Shields and Brad Fleming took two wickets each.
In the other senior game Oamaru defaulted to Valley.
