Cameron Grubb took six for 19 off nine overs while Brad Williams took four for 14 off his seven overs.Matt McLelland (25 not out) and Andrew Grubb (23) saw Eastern safely through to 73 for one.

He lost his wicket soon after but South African allrounder Francois Mostert added an invaluable 63 before the final wicket fell in the fiftieth over with Oamaru all out for 164.Bowling for Union Duncan Drew and Paul Johnston took three wickets each. Union needed only 42 overs to pass Oamaru’s total. Jeremiah Shields (26) gave Union a solid start but it was a 62 run fifth wicket stand between Duncan Drew (51) and Paul Johnston (30) that carried Union through. Bowling for Oamaru Mostert took three for 15 and Josh Gutsell two for 41.
