Union retained its unbeaten record in Borton Cup cricket and in the only senior match which was completed on Saturday defeated second placed Albion by 134 runs. The other two games were halted by rain and hail with Valley 41 for one chasing Oamaru 162 while Eastern was 13 without loss chasing Waitaki Boys 198. Two highlights in local club cricket saw Union allrounder Glynn Cameron unbeaten on 113 against Albion, his second century in fifteen years while in senior reserve cricket Hayden Creedy of the Waitaki Boys second X1 took five for nine off six overs as his side beat Valley by thee wickets.

James Backhouse(21) and Regan George(22) gave the Oamaru innings some momentum batting first against Valley but it was two tailenders that added a touch of cream for the tenth wicket.Paul Selbie in his forty fifth season of senior club cricket and Mark Julius who has seen over twenty seasons in senior ranks combined to add an invaluable 23 runs. Bowling for Valley Reuben Simpson took three for 28 with Andrew Fisher returning identical figures. When rain stopped play Valley was 41 for one.

Glynn Cameron's century saw Union make 240 for three in its fifty overs with Thomas Shields(54) and Jeremiah Shields(30) providing support with Thomas Shields and Cameron producing 115 for the third wicket. Ricky Whyte took two for 35 for Albion. Albion was dismissed for 106 in the 26th over with Brad Fleming, four for 21, Paul Johnston, three for 22 and Dan Conlan, two for 12 doing the damage.

Stephan Grobler(50) provided Waitaki Boys with early momentum and young Lew Johnston(32), Nathan Smith(31) and Matt Munro(24) saw Waitaki Boys through to 198. Cameron Grubb took four for 24 for Eastern while Richard Snell and Liam Jenkinson took two wickets each. When play was abandoned Eastern was 13 without loss.
