Oamaru, resplendent in a new blue and silver uniform won the Wild Buck 20/20 tournament played in Oamaru on Saturday. Oamaru which will celebrate its 150th jubilee in Queens Birthday weekend upset Valley in the opening round winning by six wickets. Valley was dismissed for 101 with Mark Broughton top scoring with 30 while  Francois Mostert claimed three for six and Matt Murphy,four for 18.Oamaru aided by unbeaten innings from Stephan Grobler(38) and Murphy(30) crusied through to 103 for four with Reuben Simpson taking two for 18.

In the other first round game Union batting first against Albion made 126 for eight in its twenty overs with Dan Conlan topscoring with an unbeaten 28. Bowling for Albion  Matt Day took three for 14 and Paul Odell and Dylan Winter took two wickets each.Albion set 127 to win cruised through to 127 for two with Ben Cant unbeaten on 87, an innings that included five sixes and six fours.

Oamaru won the toss and decided to bowl first in the final against Albion. Albion was restricted to 110 for nine in its twenty overs with the Smith brothers, Jeremy and Nathan both making 26 while with the ball for Oamaru Paul Botha took three for ten while Mostert and Andrew Sewell took two wickets each.

The Oamaru middle order of Grobler(45) and Mostert(25)  gave the innings substance after  Oamaru lost early wickets but in a tense finish, number eleven batsman for Oamaru, James Backhouse scored the winning runs off the third last ball  of the innings. Bowling for Albion Odell and Winter took three wickets each.

In the playoff for third and fourth Valley defeated Union. Batting first Union made 2123 for three with Duncan Drew(45), Glynn Cameron(29) and Jason Todd(22 not out) the best of the batsmen.Valley replied with 124 for nine with  Mark Broughton(40 not out) and Hayden Tisdall(29) featuring with the bat for Valley.
