Valley made it three in a row when it claimed the Dick Hunt trophy for the third year in succession in senior club  defeating top qualifier Union by twenty eight runs at Weston Park on Saturday. Valley won the toss and electd to bat first in the fifty over contest and mainly the batting of Francois Mostert(77 not out) and Rhys Petrie(25) who combined in a second wicket stand of sixty four  the only  Valley batsmen reaching the twenties although Cameron Grubb hit four fours in his sixteen runs.Matt Lilley took four for 42 off eight overs and Hayden Creedy ,three for 27 off his seven overs.

Duncan Drew(54) and Mason James(64) gave Union a solid start and at 134 for two in the thirty fourth over looked to have the edge but then Union lost seven wickets for the addition of only five runs with Mostert scything through the Union defences taking five for twelve off nine overs while Cameron Grubb, Hamish McKenzie, and Ben Mavor took a wicket each.
