St Kevin's College and Union will meet in next week’s North Otago Borton Cup final.

St Kevin’s had a comfortable win over Waitaki Boys’ High School in Oamaru on Saturday.

Player-coach Craig Smith scored 84 and guided the side to 226 in 50 overs.

Regan George hit 77.

Lachie Mavor, Angus Ruddenklau, Quin Wardle and Hunter Wardle all took two wickets each.

St Kevin’s opening bowler Lachlan Brookes struck with the first ball of the innings and Waitaki Boys’ slumped to be all out for 144.

Mavor produced 82 but it was not enough.

Bowling for St Kevin’s College, Anthony Docherty took five for 38.

Union defeated Oamaru by 24 runs.

Batting first at King George Park, Union made 139 after Jeremiah Shields (42) and Thomas Shields (25) gave it an encouraging start.

However the lower order could not build on that to any degree.

Scoring was slow and the final wickets fell in the last over.

Bowling for Oamaru, Stephan Grobler took three for 13 and Robbie Breen bagged three for 14.

Oamaru never got on top of the Union attack and was dismissed for 115.

Bowling for Union, Duncan Drew took four for 19, while Blake Martin finished with two for 20.
