Union will play St Kevin’s College in the 30th edition of the Borton Cup Final.
Union’s Shields twins put on 69 before Jeremiah was dismissed for 23. Thomas soon followed for 42 as Albion started to make inroards into the Union batting. Duncan Drew was the third wicket to fall for 21, which started a collapse when 7 wickets fell for the addition of only 30 runs. The 10th wicket wagged however, with Scott Kitto (56 not out) and Rylie Rooney (20) putting on 80 runs for the final wicket. Rooney the last wicket to fall, Union had made 210 all out in 49 overs.
Tom Squire and Ricky Whyte ripped through the middle order of the Union batting, taking 5-32 and 3-29 respectively.
Albion made a horror start to its chase and never recovered to have a chance of chasing down 211 for victory, as they limped be all out for 68 in the 26th over. Brad Fleming took 4-17, Mason James 3-15, and Blake James 2-14.
St Kevin’s won the toss and elected to bowl first at the College against Valley. Their bowlers soon had Valley in trouble, taking wickets regularly as Valley was bowled all out for 113 in the 25.1 overs. Liam Mavor (27) and Cameron Grubb (29 not out) top scored, while Riley Tuffley took 3-34, Liam Cameron 2-16 and Jacob Fowler 2-21.
Needing something special from their bowlers, Grubb soon responded and had St Kevin’s in trouble, taking wickets seemingly at will, to leave them 48-6. In from opener Jack Kelly was still at the crease for St Kevin's and when Craig Smith joined him, they put on an unbroken 66 runs for the 7th wicket helping their team to a win. Kelly making 41 and Smith 33, St Kevins 114/6 in 36 overs.
Grubb finished with 4-19 of 10 overs.
