In the final warmup game for the season, the North Otago Hawke Cup team went down to Dunedin Metro by 86 runs in a 60 over game in Oamaru.

Dunedin Metro battted first and started slowly but put them in a good position to push on in the final overs.

Finishing with 270-6, with captain Santner top scoring with 88, Mandaviya 68, Kotte 50 and Lauderdale-Smith 44. Kotte coming on later in the innings with his 50 runs coming of only 37 balls.

For North Otago Lochie Mavor in his debut, took 2-66.

In reply North Otago managed 184, all out in the 55th over. Cameron Grubb provided some entertainment in the innings, top scoring with 63 not out including 10 fours.

McCall was the best of the Dunedin bowlers taking 3-27, while Deol took 2-33.

North Otago will now play its first match this coming weekend of the Hawke Cup Zone 4 fixtures, at home against South Canterbury.
