Glenavy took possession of the Payne Tempero Cup for the first time in a thrilling match, defeating Oamaru by a single run at Whitestone Oval. This also marked Oamaru's first home loss in nine Borton Cup matches since March 2022.

The Rangers batted first, managing 124 runs in 44 overs. Matt Brien's bowling figures of 4-27 were supported by Hunter Wardle's 2-19 and Stephan Grobler's 2-25.

In response, Oamaru seemed set for a strong chase, with Wardle leading and adding 22 to take the score to 57 before he was dismissed, leaving Oamaru at 57/2. Oamaru pushed forward to 78/2 and looked well set for victory, but Glenavy fought back fiercely, taking three wickets in five balls to tilt the game. As wickets continued to fall, Oamaru found themselves at a precarious 103/8.

A late partnership between Nick Johnston and Reece Curle brought Oamaru within four runs of victory. However, Glenavy's fielding proved decisive as Johnston was caught, followed by Curle being run out, ending Oamaru's innings at 123 in the 38th over just two runs shy of victory.

Ross McCulloch took 3-24, Zach Graham 3-24 and Hamish McCulloch 2-42 for Glenavy.

St Kevins dominated Valley with a 10-wicket win. Valley was bowled out for 69 in 27 overs, led by Lloyd Fellowes' 5-15, with support from Liam Direen (2-16) and Jacob Fowler (2-19). Jack Kelly's unbeaten 51 off 61 balls took St Kevins to 71/0 in 20 overs.

Union triumphed over Albion, who were bowled out for 95 in 29 overs, Hayden Creedy scoring 21. Brad Fleming took 3-33, Alex Wilson 2-2, Liam Mavor 2-11 and Blake James 2-25.

Union recovered from 39/4, thanks to Alex Wilson (24*) and Kane McLachlan (25*), reaching 96/4 in 22 overs for a six-wicket victory. Scott Kitto's quick 20 off 7 balls boosted Union's start, while Albion's Tom Squire (2-29) and Aneesh Bose (2-30) led their bowling.
