Yesterday afternoon the above clubs met for the first time this season, and a good deal of interest was taken in the match. The Capulets won the toss and sent their opponents to the wickets. Doig and Meldrum opened to the bowling of Crawshaw and McGhie. After a few minutes play, proceeding were stopped for a time owing to rain. On resuming, runs came freely until the last wicket fell with the score at 72, of which number Doig contributed 36 by good all-round hitting. Ogilive (11) and Shine (10) also batted well. When the Capulets had lost two wickets for three runs, heavy rain set in, and the game was abandoned.
