Union and Albion will meet in the Dick Hunt limited over final at King George Park next Saturday after both sides continued their winning ways on Saturday. Union defeated Valley by 101 runs while Albion in a reduced over game beat Oamaru by four wickets at Awamoa Park.
Valley won the toss and put Union in to bat at King George park and Valley had immediate success having Union 30 for three after eight overs. Todd Sidon( 59) and Thomas Shields (50) took Union through to 131 for three after 30 overs. Paul Johnston hammered home Union's advantage with a fine 55 before the final Union wicket fell in the 49th over with the total at 244.
Hamish McKenzie took four for 48 for Valley while Daniel Suddaby and Aaron McKay took two wickets each.
Albion won the toss and batted first against Oamaru and although it lost early wickets to be 37 for two after eight of the 20 overs Brad Kernahan (82) and Darren Shillito (32) saw Albion through to 153 for six at the end of 20 overs. Ben Coleman took three for 40 and Khalil two for 21 for Oamaru.
Oamaru failed to tie the game and at the end of its 20 overs was 152 for five with Kieran Paterson (34) and David Rusbatch (28) the best of the Oamaru batsmen.
