A Dunedin League team met a N.O. team , captained by Jacobs, at Takaro Park this afternoon. The wicket appeared in good order. The visitors won the toss and put N.O. in. McBeath and Pope opened.
Bond and Wilson bowled. McBeath for a trace of Bond's first ball but fell to a good one from the same bowler next ball - 1 for 2. Keith followed and played a maiden to Cullen after a bye. The next few batsmen did little and did not seem at home to Bond who was bowling well. Brook stopped the rot, the former getting a nice 34 whilst Jacobs helped with 16. Pope had held out, but succumbed to Wilson. A rot then set in, and after 45 minutes play the score was nine for 109 with Weaver and Georgi still in.
When Dunedin took the field they made a poor showing against the bowling of Blundell and Keith. The fielding was very keen and up to the time going to press no one had reached double figures. Ten wickets were down for 44.
