Valley upset Union in Borton Cup cricket in a low-scoring game at KGP. Union, batting first was dismissed for 122 in the 35th over with veteran Neil Rushton holding the side together with a solid 54 on a rain-affected pitch which saw nine of the Union batsmen go out to catches from lofted shots. Geoff Mavor claimed five for 33 and Cameron Grubb two for nine of six overs. Andrew Harding guided Valley to victory with an unbeaten 41, with Mavor chiming in with 28.

Albion put Oamaru/St Kevins in to bat at Centennial Park and knocked the side over for 113 with Regan George top-scoring with 51. Bowling for Albion Matt Day took four for 21 backed up by Paul Odell, three of 17, and Ricky Whyte, two for 27. An unbeaten 47 from Ian Cooney well supported by Odell (38) saw Albion through to 114 for two in the 15th over.
