The above match was played on Takaro Park yesterday, and resulted in a win for Tureka by 14 runs on the first innings. The match had been looked forward to with interest for some time as both teams had an unbeaten record for the season. Hewat won the toss, and sent Tureka to the wickets. They were all disposed of for 39 runs. R.J. Thomson being top scorer with 8. Owing, however, to Doig’s splendid bowling, Oamaru could only put together 25 runs, Doig taking 7 wickets for 10. On Tureka going to the wickets again they had lost one wicket for 45, Doig 35 (not out).
