Day One, 10.15am

North Otago has won the toss and elected to field. Presentations were made at the start of warm-ups to Duncan Drew and Chris Cunningham, Duncan for his 50 games and Chris was capped for playing 25 games.

Day One, 1.00pm

South Canterbury are 100-3 at lunch after a good fight back from the North Otago team. Openers Davies and Preston put on 51 for the opening wicket before Davies was caught by Jeremiah Shields of the bowling of David Sewell. Not long after spinner Jordan Horrell was bought on and took two wickets in his first over to leave the visitors 2-67. Walsh and McCord then safely saw them to lunch.

Day One, Tea

South Canterbury are 180-8 at tea after a good fight back in the second session of the day. Walsh and McCord looked to be well set as they moved the score to 152 before McCord was caught by keeper Hooper-Smith for 48. This started a collapse that saw 5 wickets fall for only 12 runs. Tim McCormick was the main wicket taker taking three wickets, while Sewell picked up two wickets.

Day One, Stumps

South Canterbury are in a strong position at the end of the play with North Otago 66-4 in their first innings, 161 runs behind South Canterbury's total of 227. Early in the session South Canterbury were bowled out but not before a tail attack saw them put on another 47 runs. David Sewell and Tim McCormick picked up 4 wickets each

North Otago's innings got of to the worst possible start losing Cunningham and never really looked like recovering. Jeremiah Shields was solid at the top of the innings for his 19 the last wicket to fall for the day. Sean Eathorne was aggressive on the loose ball scoring his 30 runs in 30 balls before he was bowled by Laming. The batsman at the crease when stumps were called was Stephan Grobler (11) and Tim O'Malley (1)

Day Two, 10.30

Slight delay this morning with the covers being on for a brief spell. However the covers have now come off with play due to start at 11.00am

Day Two, Lunch

South Canterbury are in a strong position after bowling North Otago all out for less than 100 runs in the first session. Ben McCord was the chief destroyer taking three wickets in four balls as the last 5 wickets fell for less than 30 runs. North Otago were are now three wickets down for less than 30 runs in the second innings after South Canterbury enforced the follow on.

Day Two, End of match

Slight technical issues earlier, South Canterbury have won the match by 10 wickets after being set 10 to win in the second innings. Jordan Horrell and David Sewell put on 43 for the 9th wicket which helped North Otago make South Canterbury for the second time. Horrell scored 37 while Sewell finished with 19. Earlier in the innings Stephan Grobler looked to hit out scoring 35 of 32 balls with 2 sixes.
