Valley won the Dick Hunt Rosebowl for the first time since the 2006-2007 season in the weekend in a dominate display over Union at its home ground of Weston Park.

Batting first Valley recorded a score of 177 for nine wickets after its 50 overs with N McLaughlin (40), Nick Webster (34) and N Gilbert (22) being the highest scorer of the innings, while Paul Johnston (3-51), Chris Ware (2-30) and Dan Conlan (2-21) being the best of the Union bowlers.

Union started its run chase badly and never recovered to be all for 67. Ryan Whitburn was the only batsman to record a score of greater than 20 as Tom Squire (3-27), N McLaughlin (3-4) and Hamish McKenzie (3-13) took three wickets each.

In lower grades Albion Blue continued it good season picking up the Senior Reserve holiday competition with a 7 wicket victory, Matt Murphy taking 4-25 and scoring 41, while Steven Lamb top scored with 71 not out for the Blue side. The Valley second graders made it a Senior/Second Grade double beating the Albion second grade side.
