Albion scored a seven wicket win over Valley at Awamoa Park on Saturday. Valley sent in to bat by Albion lost two wickets in the first ten overs to be 30 for two but the next sixteen overs saw Valley slump to 90 for six with Nick Webster(27) and Dean Malcolm(21) holding the side together. The final four wickets added a valuable 75 runs with Byron Neill leading the way with 51 before the final wicket fell with the total at 165 in the fortieth over. Paul Odell took three for 25 and Ricky Whyte two for 27 for Albion.

Steve Halliwell(65) and Brad Kernahan(59 not out) made light of the chase as Albion raced through to 166 for three in the 34th over.

Waitaki Boys went down to unbeaten Union in Borton Cup cricket by 18 runs. Union asked to bat first made 168 for nine with Duncan Drew top scoring with 40 while Jeremiah Shields(29), Thomas Shields(25) and Todd Sidon(20) making solid contributions with the bat. Waitaki's South African player coach, Stephan Grobler took four for 44 and Matt Day, three for 25.

Waitaki Boys was dismissed in the 49th over for 150 with Adrian Myburgh making 30 while sound batting from the lower order almost brought Waitaki Boys home. Bowling for Union Duncan Drew completed a good days cricket taking three for 16 while Glynn Cameron and Jason Todd took two wickets each.

St Kevin's won the toss and decided to bat first and at 125 for five after 40 overs looked set to threaten the 200 run mark but accurate bowling from Regan George, Khalil and Paul Selbie, all of whom took two wickets each, saw St Kevin's bat through its 50 overs struggling to 160 for nine. Tim O'Malley top scored with 46 with Jordan Bartlett (20) and Tim Cotter (30) the best of the rest.

Oamaru at 74 for one after 26 overs looked assured of victory but a major collapse saw the side dismissed for 148 in the 48th over. Josh Gutsell(45) was the only batsman to impress as the St Kevin's bowlers led by Sean Kelliher (three for 25) and Tim McCormick and Ben Rapson, both of whom took two wickets gave St Kevin's a twelve run win.
