Rain forced the abandonment of all Borton Cup fixtures in the weekend as were affected by rainy weather.

The match between St Kevins College and Waitaki Boys was abandoned as only three overs were able to be bowled in St Kevins 1st innings. They were 14/1 when the game was called off.

Albion took on the home team Union at King George Park. The visitors batted first and were all out for 144 in the 41st over. After a lengthy delay early in the innings due to rain, a typical Union bowling effort strangled Albion who struggled to keep the runs flowing. It was only when Jacob Davies, who hit his 43 runs in only 24 balls, and Aneesh Bose 22 not out combined that Albion started scoring more freely. The pair put on 51 for the 7th wicket, but once Davies was dismissed Albion folded losing its last 3 wickets for the addition of only 14 runs. Albion all out for 144 in 41 overs.

For the home side Blake Martin took 4-18 of 8.3 overs and in a rare return to the bowling crease, Jeremiah Shields took 2-21 of 4 overs.

Hayden Creedy was in fine form with the ball, as he started to rip through the Union top order leaving them in trouble at 28/4 in 5.4 overs before another heavy rain shower ended the match.

On the artificial at Glenavy, Oamaru were asked to bat, reaching 67/1 of 13 overs before rain interrupted play. Regan George was 47no when play was called.
