A superb batting effort from Brad Kernahan and Paul Odell guided Albion to a six-wicket win over Borton Cup leader Union at the showground's on Saturday.
Union won the toss and batting first was dismissed for an imposing 244 in the 44th over.
Union lost opener Glynn Cameron early to be 13 for one after three overs. James Cutt (63) continued his fine form with the bat and he got solid support from Duncan Drew (25) up the order.
Mark Wilson (25) and Matt Cutt (15) added 42 for the sixth wicket with Antony Cromwell (23) and Phil Crossan (27) firing down the order.
Blair Rawson took three for 48 off 8.4 overs, while Paul O'Dell claimed two for 74 off 10 overs.
After 10 overs Albion was struggling at 53 for two. The next nine overs produced 48 runs with Brad Kernahan beginning to attack the Union bowlers.
A further 10 overs saw Albion 148 for three, with Kernahan unbeaten on 46 and O'Dell on 29, the pair at this stage having added 63 for the fourth wicket.
Kernahan was finally dismissed for 74, ending a 105-run partnership.
O'Dell continued the onslaught to be unbeaten on 84 when Albion passed the Union total in the 44th over.
Gareth Duncan chipped in with an unbeaten 26, combining with O'Dell in an unbeaten fifth wicket stand of 54.
Matt Cutt took two for 41 off seven overs for Union.
Oamaru moved to the top of the Borton Cup table with a 127-run win over Valley.
Oamaru won the toss and batting first started slowly, being 10 without loss after four overs and 88 for three after 22 overs.
Glen Paterson upped the tempo with Nathan Mitchell to take Oamaru to 180 for six, with Paterson out for 79 and Mitchell (23).
David Tonkin produced a great innings of 54 to carry Oamaru to 233 before the 10th wicket fell to the last ball of the innings.
Mark Patterson took three for 33 and James McNally three for 37 for Valley.
After the dismissal of Kelvin Mansfield (22) and Nick Webster (31), the Valley innings meandered to 108 before the 10th wicket fell with Mark Creighton taking four for 23, Nathan Mitchell two for 46 and Paul Selbie two for nine.
A fine bowling spell from Brent O'Conner guided St Kevin's College to a six-wicket win over Waitaki Boy's High School at Milner Park on Saturday.
St Kevin's won the toss and put Waitaki in to bat and the side was dismissed for 103 in the 30th over. Jordan Horrell top scored with 21.
O'Conner bowled nine overs and finished with five for nine.
St Kevin's opener Ben Cant was the anchor for the college side, batting through the innings to be unbeaten on 49 as St Kevin's made 104 for four.
Jeremy Thomas added 20 not out, while Chris Ware and Stu Dickinson took two wickets each for Waitaki Boys.
