North Otago lost by an innings and 10 runs in a two-day cricket match against the New Zealand Universities Wanderers in a game that ended in Oamaru yesterday.

North Otago were all out for 152 runs in the second innings after being headed by 162 runs by the students on their first innings. A. Berry (50) was the only North Otago batsman that showed any spirit against an indifferent University attack.

A feature of the match was the free scoring by the University batsmen, opener D.R. McInnes notching a well-compiled second innings score of 120, while A.L. Andrew complied a hard hit 100 not out. Resuming at 31, Andrew added 69 runs in 50 minutes.

Wanderers finally declared the innings closed at 301 for five wickets.
