South Canterbury scored a seven wickets win against North Otago in a two-day cricket match ended at Timaru yesterday. After the dismissal of Geddes in North Otago's second innings the order collapsed against the spin bowling of Phillips and Williams and the side was all out for 119. McEwan and Walker hit off sufficient runs to ensure an easy win. The North Otago bowling was very stray and the South Canterbury batsmen were pinned down to slow scoring. Two dropped catches from McEwan helped the batsmen.
