North Otago had a morale boosting win against Mid Canterbury, winning by 123 runs after electing to bat first at King George Park. Captain Ben Cant gave North Otago a strong start with 87 runs, which included 10 fours and three sixes. Francois Mostert (40), Jeremiah Shields (30), Sean Conlan (26) and Stephan Grobler (21) added further runs. Bowling for Mid Canterbury, Robbie Polson took two for 59.

Mid Canterbury never built momentum, with opener Ben Mably (23) and Nick Gilbert (28) the best of the batsmen. Bowling for North Otago, Cameron Grubb, Grobler and Nathan Smith took two wickets each as the Mid Canterbury chase ended in the 47th over.

In Borton Cup cricket, Union maintained its unbeaten run with an eight-wicket win over Waitaki Boy's High School. At Weston Park, Valley defeated St Kevin's College by nine wickets, while at Waikouaiti, Eastern beat Oamaru by 132 runs.

Liam Jenkinson (26) and Geoff McLelland (31) gave Eastern a fine start after Oamaru had put the home side in to bat. Eastern moved to 165 for five after 41 overs but the last nine overs added a further 70 runs. Jeff Grubb made an invaluable 71. Bowling for Oamaru, James Blackhouse took three for 41, while Paul Holmes and Regan George took two wickets each. The dismissal of Francois Mostert for 24 saw the Oamaru slide begin, with only captain Matt Murphy (32 not out) showing any real resistance as the side were dismissed for 103 in the 35th over. Bowling for Eastern, Cameron Grubb took three for 31 and Bradley Williams two for 19.

Valley won the toss at Weston and put St Kevin's in College in to bat. Mike Seddon (36) was the only batsmen to show any form as the side was dismissed for 102 int he 27th over. Hayden Tisdall and Nick Kelland took three wickets each for the home side and Andrew Fisher two for seven. An unbeaten 59 from Tisdall backed up by 20 from Bryon Neil took Valley through to 103 for one in the 21st over.

Waitaki Boy's High School won the toss and elected to bat first at Don Field. A solid 70 from player coach Stephan Grobler and a hard-hit 28 from Jake Greenslade saw Waitaki Boy's dismissed for 136 in the 33rd over. Brad Fleming and Dan Conlan each claimed four wickets and Glynn Cameron took two for 42. Cameron who was playing his 265th game for Union, equaling the record set by Russell Payne, was unbeaten on 56 as Union made 140 for two in the 32nd over. Cameron featured in an opening stand of 75 for the first wicket, with Jeremiah Shields (33) and with Thomas Shields (24 not out) added 50 in an unbeaten third wicket stand.
