Albion took the Wild Buck twenty20 trophy for the sixth time in eight years when it defeated Valley in the final by eight wickets.
In the semifinals, Albion defeated Union by 10 wickets. Batting first, Union made 122 for nine with Glynn Cameron making 20 and Mike Ormandy adding 23. Bowling for Albion, Matt Day and Dylan Winter took two wickets each. An unbeaten 67 from Jonty Naylor, backed up by 37 from Paul Odell, saw Albion through to 123 without loss.
In the other semifinal, Valley beat Oamaru by six wickets. Batting first, Oamaru made 174 for five with Reece Curle (55), Jordan Bartlett (55) and Nick Johnston (26 not out) the best of the batsmen. Rhys Petrie (67) and Dallas Mahuika (38) saw Valley through 175 for four. Nick Johnston took two for 25 for Valley.
Valley batted first in the final but the batting depth was not as evident as the side made 134 for eight in its 20 overs with Mahuika (23) and Hamish McKenzie (22) showing form. For Albion, Winter took four for 23 and Odell two for 28. Albion needed just 15 overs and two balls to pass Valley's total, aided by solid innings from Matt Day (56 not out), Peter Cartwright (26 not out) and Jonty Naylor (21).
In the playoff for third and fourth, Union was too strong for Oamaru which, batting first, made 157 for seven in its 20 overs. Union cruised to 158 for two in reply with Cameron (79 not out) and Blake James (52) leading the way.
