Oamaru, Union and Waitaki Boys' First XI picked up maximum points in the Borton Cup round on Saturday.
Waitaki Boys’ pulled off a deserved win over Albion at Milner Park.
Quin Wardle, a younger member of the cricket family, produced a fine example of batting to guide the school side to the win.
After weather interrupted the game, the captains agreed to a revised target for Waitaki Boys’.
Earlier, Jonty Naylor, with 46, had held the Albion side together as it reached 146.
The target went down to 139, and Wardle made sure the school team made it with an unbeaten partnership with Lachie Mavor.
Wardle finished on 77.
Ben Donkers, with five for 13, and Angus Ruddenklau, with two for 18, took the wickets for Waitaki side.
Union travelled to South Canterbury to play Glenavy and in 49 overs amassed 260 runs.
The Shields brothers, Jeremiah (56) and Thomas (36) , and Blake James (56) made the runs.
Jordan Mulligan took five wickets for Glenavy, which was then bundled out in the chase for 120 runs.
Ethan Booth (30 not out) was the best of the Glenavy batsmen.
At Weston, Oamaru was too strong for the home team, Valley, which was dismissed for 80 in just 27.2 overs.
Cameron Grubb (22) and Jake Matthews (18) were the best of the Valley batsmen, while for Oamaru Stephan Grobler took three for 14 and Harry Sandhu four for 26.
Jordan Bartlett (40) guided Oamaru to victory, losing only five wickets in the process as Jake Matthews took five for 32.
