Pre-match
The North Otago XI is:
Jeremiah Shields, Ben Cant, Scott Simpson (wkt), Duncan Drew, Stephan Grobler (capt), Jordan Horrell, Glynn Cameron, Tim O'Malley, Tim McCormick, David Sewell and Chris Ware
Day One - 10.10am
After heavy rain yesterday the start of play has been delayed. Umpires to inspect the ground at 11.15am with possible start at 12pm. The start of play tomorrow morning will be 10am rather than the usual 10.30am.
Day One - 11.26am
Play will get underway at 12pm with North Otago losing the toss and being asked to bat. Session times have changed with the times now being 12-1.30, 2.10-4.40,5-7.30.
Day One - Lunch
North Otago have gone to lunch at 69-2 with Grobler and Simpson at the crease. Openers Ben Cant and Jeremiah Shields put on 32 for the first wicket before Shields went leg before wicket. Cant followed soon after bowled before Grobler and Simpson steadied the innings.
Day One - 4.50pm
Simpson and Grobler started positively after lunch moving the score to 93 before Simpson was bowled for 27. Drew joined Grobler at the crease as Grobler notched up his first half century in North Otago colors off 64 balls. Not long after it started to rain with Drew on 1 and Grobler 58, but the rain was brief and soon they were back out at the wicket. Drew was soon back in the clubrooms, caught by Rutherford in a stunning one handed catch in the slips. O'Malley and Grobler then saw out the session moving North Otago 158-4, and Grobler on 85.
Day One - 5.25pm
Gorbler has just bought up his maiden century for North Otago, they are now 178-4 in the 61st over.

End of Day One
North Otago have finished the day in a strong position being 294-8 with Tim O'Malley on 95 not out. Earlier in the session Grobler was out for 107 leg before wicket to the bowling of Wilson. The other wickets to fall were Glynn Cameron for 14 and Jordan Horrell for 10. Tim McCormick is other not out batsmen seeing out the final one and half overs of the day.
Day Two - 10.55am
North Otago's first innings has just been completed, all out for 352 in the 13th over this morning. Looking to bat 13 overs and were hoping that Tim O'Malley would bring his debut Hawke Cup century however it was not to be, bowled by Brendan Domigan in the fourth over of the day failing to add to his overnight score. This brought out Chris Ware and combined in an entertaining 49 run last wicket partnership with Tim McCormick. Ware was the last batsman to be dismissed for 13 as they pushed to total to a new North Otago record for highest score against Otago County/Central Otago, surpassing the 325 set in 1998. McCormick was 38 not out with 5 fours.

Day Two - Lunch
Otago Country have gone to lunch at 94-3 in a game that looks more and more likely to be fight over first innings points as the game goes on. Sewell picked up the wickets of Homer and Pyle to leave Otago Country 19-2 but Domigan and Paulin combined for a 40 run partnership before the loss of Domigan for 13 of the bowling of Horrell. Paulin and Andrew then saw it out till lunch with Paulin notching up his half-century just before lunch and Andrews on 12. With 106 overs left in the day next session could be the most critical in the match.
Day Two - Tea
In an exciting session that twisted and turned Otago Country go to tea at 248-7. Losing the wicket of Andrew early, Cameron Rutherford came out an in an aggressive innings hit 72 runs in only 68 balls before being caught by Simpson of the bowling of Chris Ware. The North Otago team then roared back into life taking two wickets in quickly with Fraser Wilson bowled by Cameron and Collins out leg before wicket in the final ball before lunch. 104 runs required for Otago Country and 3 wickets to get for North Otago for first innings.
Day Two - 5.06
North Otago has taken first innings points in its match against Otago Country taking the last three wickets in a canter after tea. First Brown was caught by Simpson of the bowling of Grobler, then Purvis was bowled by Horrell and finally century maker Scott Paulin was caught by McCormick of the bowling of Grobler. Otago Country was all out for 268, 84 runs behind North Otago.
With no chance of an outright result in the remaining time both captains agreed to call the end of the match.
